Sackboy & KnitKit

So I finished my other Sackboy a little while ago, but the little boy who Sackboy is going too has a little sister and I didn't want to leave her empty handed, so was looking for something to make for her. I came across this little kitten which seemed nice and finally got it done too.

All that's left to do is package them and post them. I hope they like their new home!

Sackboy

A while back someone sent me a knitting pattern for a cute little character called Sackboy, from a game called LittleBigPlanet.

They asked if I could make one for them but I said unfortunately I didn't know how to knit anything besides a severely wonky scarf.

Forward a couple month, I asked my talented master-knitter mother to show me how to actually knit, and asked her if the pattern would be a hard one to follow. She said it was actually very simple, so I gave it a go.

Here's the result, it's not too bad for a first try...he's a little ramshackle but my son seems to love him as is.

I'm busy working on my second one, which is hopefully going to be much neater, for the kind sender of the pattern :)

Recycled Skirt

I cleaned out my clothes this last weekend and came across this little dress whose fabric I love but I will probably never wear again, as it isn't the most flattering dress ever.

I decided to recyle it into something else
The dress
Cut the top off
Add a band
Voila
We have a skirt

Haramaki

Also known as a tummy warmer. Apparently is an item of underwear that old ladies in Japan used to wear but has now made a fashionable come back.

I always have this section between my jeans and my top that gets chilly in winter, so I decided to remedy that this winter without buying a whole new wardrobe.

I'm still working on it but here is one of my attempts.

Haru - The Little Easter Bunny

An egg arrived just in time for Easter and inside I found this little anime easter bunny.

His name is Haru - which means "springtime" in Japanese.

He is handsewn from sparse mohair with a red backing and yellow fur. His head is cotterpin jointed but his arms and legs are string jointed. He has glass eyes, a handsewn nose, freckles and belly button and sits at 6cm's tall.

He has been nicely weighted in his tummy and feet with lead.

Haru is currently looking for a home.

*Please note Haru is not suitable for a child's toy*
